 Mutton Thokku / மட்டன் தொக்கு




Ingredients :1


Mutton - 500gm

Salt - 1/2tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Water - 1/2cup


Ingredients for masala


Oil - 1tsp

Pepper - 1tsp

Cumin seeds - 1tsp 

Fennel seeds - 1tsp

Garlic - 3big pods 

Ginger - small Piece 

Shallots - 5

Red chilly - 5

Kashmiri chilly -2


Ingredients -2


Gingley oil - 2tbsp

Shallots- 100gm

Tomato - 2(big)

Salt - as you need

Curry leaves - 1sprig 

Coriander leaves 


Method :


🌶 Wash the mutton & take a pressure cooker add mutton  add salt and turmeric powder and make 5 whistle or until mutton get soft


🌶 Take a pan add oil and add ingredients under masala and roast it in low flame and make a fine paste 


🌶 Now take a Kadaai and add oil and shallots saute until it turns light brown colour, add tomatos and it's get mushy 


🌶 Add the ground masala paste and mix it well till oil ooze out 


🌶 Now add the cooked mutton with mutton stock and wait until water gets observed completely 


🌶 Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves 


🌶 Serve with hot rice/ rasam rice / curd rice
