Paruppu Urundai Kulambu
Ingredients -1
Channa Dal - 1/4cup (soak together for 3hrs)
Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
Fennel seeds - 1/2tsp
Dry red chilly - 3
Salt - as you need
Asafotedia - 1/4tsp
Onion - 1/4cup
Coriander leaves - 2tbsp
Ingredients -2
Grated coconut - 1/4cup
Garlic - 3cloves
Water - 3tbsp
Ingredients -3
Oil - 2tbsp
Mustard seeds -1/4tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/2tsp
Sambar onion - 100gm ( finely chopped)
Tomato - 1big (finely chopped)
Tamarind juice - 1/4cup
Chilly powder - 1/2tbsp
Kulambu milagai powder - 1tbsp
Coriander powder - 1tsp
Curry leaves - 1sprig
Coriander leaves - for garnish
Method :
🔹In a mixie jar add the soaked dall, fennel seeds,red chilly, salt and grind it to coarsely, don't add water
🔹Transfer to bowl and add chopped onion, coriander leaves, salt, kaayam and mix it well
🔹Make a medium size balls and keep aside
🔹Now take a mixie jar and add grated coconut, garlic cloves and pour some water and make fine paste
🔹 Take Kadaai and add oil, mustard seeds and fennel seeds let it temper, now add the onion,curry leaves and saute it for 2mins
🔹Add salt, chilly powder, coriander powder and Kulambu milagai podi and mix it well, add the finely chopped tomato and let them mushy
🔹 Pour the tamarind extract and add some water, let it boil well, now drop the balls in a boiling gravy
🔹And close the pan and wait for 10-15mins, let them cook
🔹 Now add the coconut paste and gently mix it with gravy and switch off the flame after 2mins
🔹 Finally garnish with coriander leaves
